TL:DR Middle aged mum of teens who LOVES Body Pump and HATES celery.

I've dieted on and off my whole life. Biology, upbringing, following the wrong diet advice, becoming a mum and life's ups and downs have all kept me in that cycle. I wanted to get a grip before I turned 50 this year, and managed a big turnaround. Now I want to focus on long term health and I NEVER want to yoyo again. Besides anything else it costs a fortune in clothes.

VERY sensitive about giving my teenage daughters healthy messages about food and diet. My only rule: make sure a meal has GOODNESS and FLAVOUR and COLOUR and TEXTURE and LOVE.

I eat a Mediterranean type diet, focusing on weekly CICO and SATISFYING foods. Nothing is excluded if it makes me feel good. I've been in a 5:2 routine since Sept 2020. High protein 800 calorie days good for focus. Carby food the day before I lift weights. 28kg down and now tweaking to find the right weight for me. Taking it slow. This last bit is icing on the cake. Mmmm, cake.
